It was one of those moments I will never forget!  I was wandering the crowd at a Muscle Beach bodybuilding show in Venice, California.  A competitor, Andrew, walks up and says hello, asks my name and says I look like a girl he once met.  He goes on to say, “She came to our high school and benched like 500 lbs.”  I asked him where he was from and surely enough, it was my home town.  I DID go to his high school and do a bench demonstration.  He was stoked (I was too!!)  He stated how motivational it was…. and here he is, doing his first bodybuilding show!!

Andrew is now in the military, at Camp Pendleton.  BEST WISHES TO ANDREW AND GEORGE!!

I was driving from Chatsworth to Santa Monica yesterday. But I didn’t want to see the traffic on the 405. So, I headed west, toward the coast, hoping to hit the Pacific Coast Highway. I didnt have directions, I just figured I would head west, or southwest.

Well I took a turn on to a long windy road and I found Heaven! I was winding and winding through foot hills. There were beautiful modern houses spread out all around me. It was so peaceful. So, I got out and went for a jog.

At this moment I was thinking about my freedom. About not living as a victim of any situation. About taking a wide perspective on life and changing what I wanted. At this point I am the only one I am responsible for… I am grateful.

It has been a challenge.  When I left my life in Omaha, I left in peace.  I chose not to stir the pot.  To leave with grace and let my character stand for itself.

I hear some things through the grapevine, like a haunting.  Choosing not to stand up and justify myself is difficult.  But, it would be fighting the devil, a negative vortex.  I will let the tornado just pass on by.

I sleep with a clear conscious.  Every day, I choose happiness.

I love being Auntie B!  These are the newest members of my family.

I love it here!  LA treats me well.  I got signed by a commercial agent today.  This is big, Big, BIG!!

While I was in the agency, the owner took a picture of me while I held Gabriel, a little person, over my head with one arm.  It was a great picture and she was super, super excited.

I AM EXCITED!  Feels like I am launching into a new life.  Hang on… let’s go for this ride!

Gosh, this is crazy. I am going through it! There are the twinges of “Oh, shit. I have nothing and I need to build something.” I question my direction at moments.

But over all… OVER ALL, I AM FANTASTIC!! I had a great day!

I had a kick ass workout with a good friend, Mike O’Hearn, at Venice Golds. I got the swell on!

Then, I headed over to LuLu Lemon Athletica. I LOVE IT THERE!!  They sponsored me athletic clothes for my E! True Hollywood.  I have a television interview next week, so I stopped in to see if they would doll me up with a cute athletic outfit.  They have such great customer service!

Earlier, I was looking for a coffee shop with free wifi. Just happened by a place and ask a guy outside, “Do they have free internet?” And we spent the next two hours talking business, publishing books and website techniques. It was GREAT! I walked away from the conversation thinking, my energy brought me that meeting.  My energy is ON today!

FOUND!!

Okay, I have been here for a week now.  I did a lot of body adjusting; acclimating to the end of a Omaha life and the beginning of an LA one.  I “hit the ground running” as good friend Ned Lowe stated after he gave me two great introductions at Venice Golds, AND two additional contacts.  Before I go any further, congratulations Ned for the Powerlifting USA cover shot.

One great introduction via Ned and Jack Armstrong resulted in the meeting of a great man, Ric Drasin.  This man is a legend! Check out his site for sure and see how he used to train with Schwartzenegger and Columbo.  He is most known for being the demi-hulk, the middle man between hulk and human.  So funny, when you hear that your like, “What?!  Oh, yeah!!”  You remember ;o)  Ric is also know for designing the Gold’s Gym guy AND the World Gym gorilla.  SWEET!

I will be training at Ric’s wrestling school.  The students are very welcoming!

Ric and I are scheduled to do an interview this week for his new, VERY POPULAR, website, Ric’s Corner.  I will post the link here when it is on his site.  I checked out Ric’s Corner and watched the commentary on his workouts with Arnold.  I am so glad to hear I have the same beliefs about lifting as he and the crew did back in the day.  If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

I am at Venice Golds and I am on TV at Venice Golds. CRAZY!

Today, I am hibernating in LA.  The windows open, breezy wind.  Recovering from an all day drive.  The drive went so fast, it was beautiful!  The only downfall, cramped up hamstrings today.

I did a tri and bi workout Monday at New Castle Family Fitness, a great place to train!  Next workout for me, legs.  Definitely have to make sure the hammies are in working order.

I get the pleasure of breaking in my LA life by watching a friends kids (puppies) while he is traveling for work.  I need the puppy TLC, as I miss my old dog Joss.

Joss was a Mama’s baby!!  I miss you baby!  When I feel settled in, I will get a dog of my own.  One I can run with.  I met a ridgeback recently.  Maybe I will get one of those.  What do you think?

My mind flips over and over about the past, present and future. I have dwindled my life down to a car full of belongings. Some moments I feel I’m in a deep valley with a long climb ahead. Other times I feel like an Eagle soaring with Freedom!

For the rest of the trip I will put myself at peace and think of a fresh start, clean slate and loads of possibilities! After all I came to this moment in time thru a long process of conscious decisions. It is exactly what I want!
