Getting Staples Removed – Video Blog

6 July 2010

Okay, it is not the most exciting video, but it is part of my life.  So, here you go.

I have a video blog about charity work I like to do coming up.  Also, a few tips on getting the tone legs you always wanted.  Stay tuned!

Strongest Ever – Dr Marshall Jacobs Featured

5 July 2010

Injury is something that is in the contract when you sign-up for becoming the strongest woman on the planet. I have 3 zippers (scars) now. Incisions for both biceps tendons to be attached and now one triceps tendon.

Besides these lovely scars, I have sprained my upper back, which has contributed to long term nerve pain for my shoulders. And, as you will see from this video, I tore an inner thigh muscle. It eventually bleed out (when you tear a muscle the blood supply is ripped open and it will bleed internally, looking like a dark bruise).

Over all, my body feels fantastic and I continue to lift fairly heavy (for a female). However, longevity did contribute to the end of my powerlifting career. That and the fact that I had reached all of my goals.

This clip is from STRONGEST EVER, a documentary about my lifting and my life while reaching the goal of totaling over 2000 lbs, hundreds above any female to date. The documentary has been played in Germany, Italy and Finland, to name a few. I hope it is played in the USA someday. I do not own any rights to the movie, so I can not get you a copy… maybe some day.

Shooting Movie – Haunting Pusher

3 July 2010

The filming of HAUNTING PUSHER has been post poned.  I am so excited!  The role is a challenging one.  I am triplets, we are bodyguards/henchmen for a drug-lord woman.  All three triplets are played by me.

I will look a little something like this…

But acting a little more like this…

IMDB

3 July 2010

I just got some great news, and I will share that when I am allowed.  Can not wait!!

The news prompted me to look on www.imdb.com, the internet movie database.  Anyone who has any credits in film gets a page on IMDB.  It is a mile marker for getting into film and television.

Well, I was looking at Chris Bell’s page, of Bigger, Faster, Stronger.  He had a credit from E! True Hollywood Stories – Female Bodybuilders.  I had a segment on that show (thanks to Chris), so I clicked it…. scrolled down the character list…. and there was my name… Clicked it…. AND I HAVE MY OWN IMDB PAGE!!!!  Click here to see.

I wonder if I can get Strongest Ever added?  It has been shown in Germany, Finland and Italy.

I just texted the producer to see if I can put a clip of E! True Hollywood Stories on my blog.  You will be the first to know.

Tricep Injury – Video Blog

1 July 2010

Well, here is some news, not so great.  But, challenges happen and life moves forward.  We all grow and adjust.  I am moving forward, we all are.  The video is a bit choppy near the end, as it was a phone video.

Keep checking in to see some clips from Strongest Ever, a documentary about my life and lifting.  The clip highlights Dr. Marshall Jacobs discussing the stress my body endured as I was in peak training as the strongest woman in the world.

Then, I will post a video of me getting my staples taken out… Just for FUN!!

Shoot!

30 June 2010

I was all finished editing my video blog, but I couldn’t render the file.  So, I am going to get another software today and get that sucker posted.  I considered posting the raw footage in two parts.  But, there is a part where I am lifting and I like to do a voice over.  So, please be patient with me.

In the mean time, look at these cool little containers I got!  I use oatmeal every day and I wanted a container for it.  I found these and couldn’t resist.  I got one for my brown rice too.  I am thinking of getting one for my almonds.

Note how I have the measuring cup right in the container.  It saves me having to dig it out every day.

Big News Tomorow!!

29 June 2010

I am doing a video blog tomorrow to share a bit about what I have been experiencing.  I had a set back a few weeks ago.  I will tell you all about and how I put the positive prospective on the situation.  So, tune in!

Spice Up Your Life

28 June 2010

I am so excited!! I have been craving Indian food, so instead of going to an Indian Food restuarant and being temped by cheesy naan… I went to the grocery store and picked up some Masala Sauce. YUM!! I also found some Hot Mustard Powder… not some sissy stuff, but the stuff that burns you up if you get too much of it.  It comes in powdered form and I mix it with water.

Now, listen up!  I use the Hot Mustard Powder on meals where I have carbs, like rice and chicken.  I could also use it on meals that have just fat and protein.  The Masala Sauce, on the other hand, has a higher fat content.  So, I only use that one on meals with no carbs.  Carbs and fat together are a fat STORING combination… so steer clear!  Use Masala Sauce only when the meal contains protein and/or fat.

It’s Okay to Let GO…

26 June 2010

I mean it is actually better for you!! When you are doing cardio. Try not to hold on the the handles. And if you need balance, try to balance with two fingers per hand.

I tell you, it drives me nuts when I see a person putting the incline up on the treadmill then they hang on to the console and recline. They completely cancel out the intention of the incline; might as well put the treadmill horizontal. So, if you are a hanger on’er…. next time, let go and swing your arms. See the difference in actual work being done… which is MORE calories burned. OR, if you like to hang on, just know that you are not burning as many calories as you think you are (and your pissing me off, lol!) Same thing applies to leaning on the stairmaster.

A good way to test this theory is to wear a Heart Rate Monitor
and use the watch to count calories. Then compare the calories burned on the watch to the calories the treadmill thinks you burned. It will be a big difference. And I will encourage one more thing. Wear thatHeart Rate Monitor
and do cardio outside, off the treadmill. You will be happy with your results; more calories burned if you hit the pavement.

You could also use a The Biggest Loser bodybugg ®
for this test. Which is a larger financial commitment, but it offers a lot more information.

NOW GO OUT AND GET FIT!!
