Leap of Faith

31 July 2010

I came to LA for one reason, to share my life with the world. Whether it be through film or television, I want to show the world how a 200+ pound, strong female can be comfortable in her own skin. How she can feel beautiful and sexy wearing a size 12 dress and feel every bit of a woman as the girl wearing a size 2.

Yesterday, I took a leap of faith. I signed with a show which will allow me to do what I came here for. Only 4 months in this city and the Law of Attraction struts its stuff. The world has connected me and the timing is impeccable.

I will share details with you as I am allowed. Stay tuned!!

Meeting Neat People

30 July 2010

I am meeting some really neat people in Los Angeles, California! It is a different world than where I come from. This place sure holds creativity to a higher value. I had the privilege of meeting Mike, who created this wonderful movie.

There is just something about knowing a person and having them show you their life’s work. A person sharing their passion is revealing their soul.

High Falls

28 July 2010

This is the first time I have ever done High Falls. I did a third story jump, it was amazing. Shown here are the first story “headers”. I was learning proper form. The first one is just gravity taking me. The second one, I pop my hips a bit higher in the air. I am learning! I love it! Oh the first story is 20 feet off the ground. Enjoy!

Exercise is for ALL!

27 July 2010

I was working out at Gold’s Gym in Thousand Oaks. I looked over and saw an 80 year old woman on the shoulder press machine. That is so inspirational!! Then, here comes her husband with walking sticks to tell her he is done and is heading to the car. I thought we all could use this as some inspiration, so I wanted to ask for a photo with them. I zigged and zagged through the equipment catching up to the fast old man. He agreed to a photo, so I went to grab my phone, not 25 feet from me.

By the time I turned back, the old man was no where to be found. I ran toward the door and couldn’t see him. Ah, good, here comes his wife. I informed her of the photo and learned her name was Ruth. We headed outside and spotted her husband hoofin’ down the walkway. Ruth told me all about the Digital Pocket Pedometer she just purchased and how she is walking an extra two miles a day because of it.

You hear what I am saying! They are in their 80′s! Handicap or not, Ruth and her husband make no excuses. They are exercising!

Where there is a will there is a way. Now, get out there and do it!

Add sliced strawberries and some blueberries. Stir.

So Busy Pursuing My Dreams

23 July 2010

Okay, stay with me. I am super crazy busy. Today, I will be filming for a reality show sizzle (a pilot). I happen to meet a stunt man this week and he invited me to do some high falls. Falls from 1,2,3 or 4 stories. Good thing it was the same day we are getting some reel. Then I will be meeting with the capoeira mestre to learn a few things and have general discussion about standards we hold for our bodies.

I will try to post some pictures of the high jumps later today!!

So much more is going on this weekend, so stay tuned!!

Everything I Wanted

21 July 2010

I took a leap, when I left my life behind in Omaha. I came to Los Angeles for specific reasons. With positive thinking and taking action, I am laying some solid tracks in front of my train.

This week I have three auditions and two other impactful meetings. I am learning to go into auditions with ambition. I just give them my true person and talk to them like I would a client at the gym. My first audition a month ago, I gave them what they asked for… now I am giving them what I want to give them. I walked out of yesterdays audition knowing I could not have done any better to date. It was a great feeling.

Oh, and I almost forgot. I met a stunt man and I am going to get to do some high jumps on Friday. I will be jumping off of 1,2,3 or 4 stories, depending on my technique and my kahunas!! LOL!

Quad Question

20 July 2010

A fellow lifter, Christina, asked about shaping the quads and hamstrings. I gave her my best tip on shaping those legs up. The question will be answered in a two part series. Enjoy the video.
